A simple delicous sweet & sour recipe from Mark's bavarian grandmother.
Combine 2 c. chopped apple with 4 c. sauerkraut in a 2 qt pot. Add a splash of lemon juice, 1 tsp. caraway seed, *7-9 juniper berries, 2 fresh bay leaf & 1 T. sugar or a pinch of Stevia.
Cook covered for 15 minutes on medium high heat.
*Omit berries if pregnant. |
