Costmary, Bible Leaf
| Botanical Name: |
Tanacetum balsamita |
| Life Cycle: |
Hardy Perennial |
Description/Size:
|
It's 6" long strap shaped leaves and mint fragrance served as a bible marker and "stimulant" during lengthy sermons. Fine hairs give a light grey look. Spreads by underground branches which bolt in June to form dandelion-like, frankly unattrative, flowers. Remove prior to flowering if you find them undesirable. Use fresh leaves sparingly in salads and soup, also dried leaves in sleep pillows. |
