Cut off the stem of a garlic head. Drizzle butter & sprinkle salt, pepper & thyme. Wrap head in foil. Bake at 300 for an hour. Cool. Squeeze the "spread" out of each clove and smother on bread or steamed veggies; add to salsa and hot pizza.
Warning: roasted garlic is so sweet, mellow and delicious that you may be tempted, like Mark, to eat a bulb or two. His limit is 3 bulbs (I said bulbs not cloves). While there are an abundance of health benefits linked to garlic, one of them being diuretic, eating that quantity may lead to excessive magazine reading... on the throne the following day! |
