This plant was a gift for a gentleman in Castalia, OH whom we could never find again. After having gifted it to a few friends, it has now entered the hardy cactus circles as ""Mulberry Creek"". It flowers every year during the third week of June- just before our HerbFair. It needs grreat drainage to prevent winter rotting, but is hardy to Zone 4!
OREGANOOreganos fall under the "Mediterranean" category that is, herbs that generally love the sun, heat, and a well drained soil. The flavor is diminished by overfertilizing. We suggest an organic, balanced (like a 3-3-3 to 10-10-10 max.) fertilizer at planting with annual dressings. We carry mostly hardy oregano and Marjoram, a sweet annual oregano. Any of the culinary ones flavor summer vegies to winter stews and teas plus some relieve sore muscles in the bath. |

Don't confuse this one with the purple flowered ornamental oregano. This one is for cooking. It's still a vigorous grower, which will form 3-4' clumps, so give it room to grow. Harvest frequently. Sprinkle flowers or leaves over pizza, spaghetti, heavy meats or stews, venison, and other ""manly"" fare.

Bright pink-purple flowers clusters sit right on top of small glossy green leaves which form neat, small, mounding plants. Highly ornamental. Good oregano flavor from this cute dwarf is an added plus for containers, rock gardens or in front of the herb garden. Like with all oreganos, avoid over-fertilizing.

Plant this gilded groundcover with purple crocus or red tulips underneath. (This saves your bulbs from being dug up by critters or yourself.) Tolerates a tremendous amount of shade and turns chartreuse by summer. In full sun, color is more golden but needs extra water. Summer flowers are white and add elegance to fresh flower arrangements or pizzaz to pizza fresh out of the oven. Mild culinary flavor for fresh salads.

So cute and so hardy! Their light yellow, small, crinkled leaves prefer protection from afternoon heat to retain best color. With a mild oregano flavor, it's a colorful addition to pizza or green salad. Perfect for rock gardens, containers or as a contrast with 'Purple Palace' Heuchera.

Liven up your mixed herb containers with the purple-greenish leaves of this groundcover in the spring. By summer, 18"" stalks of cerise pink flowers surrounded by purple bracts, will rise up. Use these in fresh or dried flower arrangements. Plant in beds next to ""Santolina, Dwarf Gray"" for year round contrast. So what if it's not much on flavor.

Survived the winter of 2002 with flying colors (-18 F) and flowered all summer long. Blue-green, almost heart-shaped leaves give way to red & cream, hop-like flower heads, all summer and fall. Absolutely perfect as a trailing feature in a mixed herb pot.

Incredibly small, silvery, powerfully flavored, miniature variety of oregano with deep purple flowers in the late summer. Mark was taken aback when he saw these half starved alpines at a Michigan nursery. We have since multiplied and norished them in hipes that you will help us introduce this phenom to other gardners, but be sure to tell them it is not a thyme, it is oregano!

The connection between Ireland and faery lore is.... legendary, so these ridiculously tiny clover leaves are most appropriate in a garden of the wee folk. It grows to 1/2"" small and carries double white flowers, no bigger than a baby pea each spring and then again in fall. Emerald green leaves in the shade, will bronze with increased sunlight. Doesn't like extreme heat or drought. A natural bonsai groundcover
