Sage, Grandfather White
Used ceremonially by southwestern Native Peoples to purify themselves (in sweat lodges during flu season) or dwellings, this power-filled, silver leaved shrub, about the size of garden sage will have everyone asking ""What is it?"" Traditionally, small wands are burnt to ward off evil spirits. Frankly, it's odors scares anything away. Ask Mark's brother, Kyle, (our website guru) just how bad it smells. According to our brother Soft-Shell Turtle, the eastern Native Peoples use a different sage with the botanical name Artemesia ludoviciana.
